Hoe groot is U

1.       Kan my verstand verstaan

          hoe groot is U Naam

          kan ek my voorstel

          hoe groot is U wel

 

2.       U is ver verhewe

          bo my hier benede

          U is oneindig groot

          ek lê maar klein hier in U skoot

 

3.       U gaan my verstand te bowe

          by U is ek ‘n dowe

          ek bedink U grootsheid

          U magtigheid, en heerlikheid

 

4.       My verstand kan nie begryp

          soos die verstand van een wat kruip

          hoe verklaar ek U heerlikheid

          U alomteenwoordigheid

 

5.       My begrip is so klein

          terwyl U van wysheid skyn

          my vermoeëns so beperk

          U weer onbeperk

 

6.       My lewe is van korte duur

          terwyl U vir ewig duur

          terwyl ek soos in ‘n spieël kyk

          sien U wat my ontwyk

 

7.       Hoe kan Ek anders as om U te bewonder

          as ek staan en kyk hoe gaan die son onder

          as ek na die see staan en kyk

          hoe moet die hemel nie lyk?

 

8.       Ek loof en prys U naam

          U wat vir ewig bestaan
