Hoe sal ek weet of jy gelukkig is

Het jy vergeet, die verlede gewis

Is jou gesig met ‘n glimlag afgerond

Of ploeter jy in die grond rond

 

Is jy gelukkig of is dit net ‘n masker

Is daar liefde of is dit onseker

Doen jy wat jy wil of wat hulle sê

Weet hulle wat dit is wat jy wil hê

 

Sien jy uit na more se sonskyn

Ook wanneer dit voor die reën verdwyn

Verbloem jou glimlag dalk ‘n vrons

Of is dit jou liefde vir ons

 

Is jy gelukkig met jou lewe sover

Geniet jy die glinster van ‘n ster

Sou jy dit weer net so doen

Of sou jy dit weer wou verbloem
