Plat is die aarde aldaar
Waar bossies en struike baljaar
Oopgekloof deur die teer
Wat struik en bossie verteer
Weer is daar bossies vergaar
Waar die meerkat en voëltjies baljaar
‘n dammetjie vir die dors
Styf teen moeder aarde se bors
Water vir plant en dier
Ook die sprinkaan en mier
‘n dors wat geles moet word
Voordat dit wegsink in die grond
