Soos ‘n roos tussen kakiebos
‘n rooi roos tusse rolbos
Buig hulle nederig neer
Om hul prinses te vereer
Ek vlieg oor die veld
Al die blomme van die veld
Die mooiste en soetste oral rond
Almal sterk en gesond
Ek kies vir my ‘n blom
Soos die van ‘n bloekom
Soet is die nektar van haar
Wanneer sy ons kinders baar
Op my terugvlug deur die lewe
En oor die blomme swewe
Sien ek die roos daar staan
In die blomme oseaan
Die mooiste blom nog ooit gesien
Wat in haar fleur daaruitsien
Die ander blomme kry skaam
En kyk ver daarvandaan
Die blomme kan haar nie aanskou
As hulle haar skoonheid beskou
Nederig draai hulle weg
Is dit dan my nagereg?
