Oor Berge en valleie

Heldhaftig of beskeie

Oor vlaktes en die see

Soek ek U wee

 

Ons het ver afgedwaal

Wie van ons sal die pad haal

Wie kan gaan en wie is laat

Wie sal by die soektog baat

 

In boeke en in blaaie

In kaste en in laaie

In gesigte en in spreuke

Soek ons by die leke

 

Geen wyse man meer oor

Ek is agter en dink ek is voor

Ek sien die spieel voor my

Op my knieë kry jy my
