Ek voel vannaand eensaam
As ek onder die maanlig staan
Ek wonder of daar ook in die nag, so koel
Iemand is wat soos ek voel
Was ons maar bymekaar
Kon ek vertroosting soek by haar
By my kon sy weer vertroosting vind
In die koel-koel wind
O maan, ek weet sy is iewers in die nag
En dat sy net op my wag
Maar hoe gaan ek uitvind
Waar sy haar bevind
Help my tog, o maan
Sodat ek na haar kan gaan
Haar in my arms kan neem
As sy oor haar eensaamheid ween
Jy wil my nie help, nè maan
Ek sal dit maar moet laat staan
Totsiens maan
Ek sal maar bed toe gaan.
