Vandag 26 jaar gelede
Het ek in die wêreld gekom
En nou terug in die hede
Het my 26ste verjaarsdag gekom
‘n Pragtige ou babatjie het hulle gesê
vaal hare en blou oë
Julle wou mos ‘n seuntjie hê
My ouers was bewoë
Dr.Rademan het my gevang
In die Kroonstadse Hospitaal
Hy moes ma kalmeer, want sy was bang
Verpleegster Byleveld, haar aandag by my bepaal
00h20 was my tyd
Sewe pond veertien onse het ek geweeg
‘n keeljie skree luid
my ma was verheug
Lukas Cornelius Johannes is ek gedoop
In die N.G. Kerk
Ds. A v/d Merwe het my gedoop
Met water doen hy sy werk.
