Op ‘n plaas waar die tortelduiwe koer
‘n Plaas met die mooiste natuurskoon
op so ‘n plaas wil ek woon
Ek wil boer met beeste
Miskien met skape die meeste
Daar moet wees, hane en henne
En ‘n eg met yster penne
Daar is eende op die dam
En ‘n ooi wat eenkant lam
‘n Kalf wat mal rondspring
en voëltjies wat in die bloekom sing
En klaar is oestyd
Ons hou groot jolyt
Want die oes was groot
Die sakke swaar soos lood.
