Van grootword tot ons nood
Van geboorte tot ons dood
Ons word gebore net om weer dood te gaan
Geleer loop net om weer neer te slaan
Ons word vet deur wat ons voed
Om stof te word wanneer ons groet
Duisende dinge word ons geleer
Ook om teen die dood te beur
Al weet ons hy sal oorwin
Sodat ons net weer van voor af kan begin
Ons versamel wat ons ook al kan
Ons bou en ons beplan
Sodat alles tot niet kan gaan
Wanneer ons huis toe gaan.
