Heerlik sit hy in sy waterpoel
Sy hele wêreld hierdie waterpoel
Sy vriend het na hom gegaan
En vertel van die groot oseaan
Wat is ‘n oseaan?
Hoe kan hy dit verstaan?
Hoe groot wil hy weet
Waaraan sal ek dit meet
Is dit so groot soos my poel
Of sal dit dit oorspoel
Hoeveel keer sal dit dit vul
Een keer of ‘n hele spul
Soos die padda nie kon verstaan
Soos ‘n mens nie kan verstaan
Hoe diep en wyd die oseaan is
Hoe diep en wyd God se genade is
Hy dink in sy eie terme daaraan
Met sy onkunde sal hy ondergaan
