‘n Windpomp langs die spoor
Het ook al sy wind verloor
Sy ambisie het vervaag
Want die water lê te laag
Het hy moed op gegee?
Of is hy nou tevree?
Het die jare hom ingehaal
Het hy sy skuld betaal
Stadig val sy lemme af
Na benede soos in ‘n graf
Sonder ‘n tand teen die wind se waai
Is sy ondergang om die draai
