Baljaar verkies ek wel
En waarop ek my versiere stel
Iets nuuts moet ek probeer
Iets nuuts wat ek kan leer
Miskien net fokus op een ding
Om die hele jaar mee deur te bring
Om ‘n boek of lied te skryf
Om so die tyd te verdryf
Maar so gaan die tyd ook verby
Tot die jaar weer einde kry
Dan weer ‘n besluit om te maak
Iets om jou mee te vermaak
Want voor jou lê nog ‘n jaar
