Dit laat my nagte wakker lê
Dit het my aan iets laat dink
Wat vreeslik stink
Alhoewel ek gaap
Kan ek net nie slaap
My gedagtes bly dwaal
As dit deur my gedagtes maal
Die spaal het gegroet
Terwyl dit in my binneste woed
Nou is die slaap verby
En die dag is al digby.
